RE: {bb} HP UX 8.05 - LOCKPREFIX

First, I feel compelled to say that if you're using HPUX 8.X
you should be very afraid. I know HP dropped support for
HPUX 9.X last year so I can only assume that HPUX 8.x has
been unsupported even longer. Their current version is
10.20 for most things with HPUX 11.x out on the market.
The worse part is that you're probably running it on
some ancient 300 or 400 series hardware. In short, you
are in desperate need of an upgrade...
Having said that, the LOCKPREFIX is just used for paging,
so any valid directory would work. You could probably use
"LOCKPREFIX=/tmp/LCK.." and be just fine. If you wanted
to be all proper about it, the right thing to do is probably
"LOCKPREFIX=/usr/spool/locks/LCK..".
I also feel compelled to confess to you that me saying you need
an upgrade is sort of like the pot calling the kettle black...
I have a HP 360 here running HP-UX 6.5 (no, it doesn't run bb).
