It could be a few things.

1) permissions, make sure that the user that the web server runs as 
   (hopefully not root) has permissions to read files in the /opt/bb1.2a/www
   directory
2) Your web server may be setup to not follow symbolic links
3) The bb.html page does not exist right away, it isn't created until a few
   minutes after BB is started, it is created by $BBHOME/web/mkbb.sh
