Brothers,
I'm running bb 1.2a (slightly hacked for extension scripts) on an E250
under Solaris. We are monitoring about 100 hosts and would like to start
using bb as a serious tool. All of our results so far have been positive,
except for one thing: bb-network.sh takes a very long time (around 1 hour, I
suspect) to run and so our network status is not as curent as I would like.
I think this is because 1) we have a lot of telnet hosts out at the far
corners of the network, 2) worse, we have a lot of hosts that we are
monitoring to make sure will _not_ accept telnet connections.
Has anyone had any luck parallelizing bb-network.sh? I've noticed that
two bb-network.sh processes are always running, perhaps if I increased this
number and ran several processes out of sync I would get better times. It
looks like the other possibility might be to parallelize the whole thing,
but I don't really want to do this if I don't have to.
Any hints?
Regards,
matt
