{bb} Problem with mkbb2.sh

I just inherited supporting BB and am trying to learn the ins and outs.
One problem here that I trying to resolve deals with mkbb2.sh.  When it
runs and creates the bb2.html page, hosts with fqdn names have commas in
their name instead of periods.  And the associated pages for each of the
hosts complain about "can't find auth,capital,net.cpu.html...."

Any ideas on what is wrong here.....?
