Hello,
I am looking into using BB to monitor the University's central mailhub, web
server and other Sun's (perhaps expanding to network devices, NT servers,
Novell servers depending on how things go).
So, far no real problem - I have BB running the display on my PC, and it
monitors a couple of test Sun's. Some simple questions though...
1) That picture...sorry Shaun...but I just don't think my manager will go
for it! Has anyone devised/obtained a natty looking picture to use instead?
2) Can anyone point me to where/how I can change the 'refresh' timer of 5
mins? For testing I'd like this a lot shorter, and generally I think we'd
like notification a bit sooner.
3) Processes. I have left BB checking for 'sendmail' as a process (i.e. I
left the config files, etc untouched as much as possible just to see that
it worked). However, I run exim rather than sendmail on my PC and the Sun's.
On the PC (under RH Linux 5.2) the process is shown as running. On the Sun's
(Solaris 7) BB says that sendmail/exim is not running. It is. Again, any
pointers as to where to change/test this to see what is going on?
4) We've just installed NTP onto the Sun's. Has anyone got BB to test for
this?
I have looked through the FAQ, and searched through the archives for some
time back. Some of the above seem to have been raised before on the list,
but I could find no 'answer' as such, so I don't know if the problems were
solved or unsolveable.
Thanks for any help,
John.
