Okay. I've got sms_client working nicely, except that Telstra's modem seems
a bit dogdy and half the time the transmission fails (Vodafone's works 100%
no problems). Will Big Brother know when a message has failed and then
command sms_client to try again?

The problem with Telstra's modem, by the way, is the connection. When I
call the number, 018018767, with a normal phone, it doesn't ring at all,
instead it makes a bad crackling sound and then the modem answers.... I'll
try calling telstra about it but I think i've got bukleys of speaking to
the right person!!!
