hummm,  pagetype=EVENT should remove the np_* file as soon as
the problem is fixed.  It's when pagetype != EVENT that the
broke-fix-broke occur should occur has there is currently no
way of knowing if a parallel problem has occured:

if pagetype=HOST|GROUP|RCPT then if 2 notification requests come in at
more or less the same time and belong to the same pagetype (2 for the
same HOST|GROUP|RCPT) then one of them is fixed there's no way 
of knowing of the 2nd was fixed or not as no status info is kept
in the np_* pages.  I will try to fix this problem in the next
version (yuk, more state info that can get corrupted...)

this is what I explained, using HOST means that you won't get notified
until pagedelay has expired for any event on that host. again, I'll
see what I can do to fix it up in the next version.  Gee that TODO list
is getting big !
