Since they potentially happen on different machines, there is no
synchronization at all between the ping test and the bb.html page.
There is complete sync between the ping test and the detail screen.
Standard scenario:
BBDISPLAY BBNET Comment
Updates page bb.html is green
check ping, red bb.html is still green,
detail is red
notification has been sent
.
.
.
Updates page, now red bb.html is now red
Check ping, green bb.html is still red,
detail is green

Note that all notifications are done at the time of testing, not when
the display updates, and that you can have return-to-normal notification,
which will be immediate, though the main display haven't been updated yet.
If the report comes it while BB is building bb.html, and it's on a
subpage, it's possible to get slight inconsistencies between the main and
sup pages, but as before, the detail page is always right and should be
considered the reference, the other pages are there to give the broad
view.

Blame it on a Y2K testing problem in the system. They will all
accept that since everyone has been telling them the whole world
will collapse due to Y2K.
