{bb} question about conn!

Hi list

this maybe be a stupid question but im still a newbie at BB. i have done my
setup off BB on all my hosts are responding ok. i have the monitors on cpu,
disk, msg, and proc.
1 . have does i configere my BB clients and host to display the conn status
2 . my var/adm/messages file are reset every week! have do i prevent BB for
displayng status red when the messages file is emty.

all my mashines are Solaris 7.
