{bb} OFF TOPIC Procs report Cron down!

Hello fellow brothers.

I am in urgent need of assistence and since you guys **REALLY** know what you
are talking about, I was hoping you could help me out here. I promise not to
make this a habbit :-)

BB just reported "cron" down on one of my systems.
I tried to restart the cron by issuing the following command:

MOENL142 # /ect/init.d/cron start
MOENL142 # ! cannot start cron; FIFO exists Tue Feb  1 18:09:07 2000
! ******* CRON ABORTED ******** Tue Feb  1 18:09:07 2000

I also tried the 'STOP' option and I got the same error.  I don't know much
about this stuff.. is it something I ought to report to Sun Tech Support?

Or is there something else I have to check first?
What will happen if I will just ignore this error?
