The crap on screen is the result of an incorrect "summary" line in
etc/bb-hosts. Get rid of it. Also get rid of all the summary*
files in www/logs.
Next, your screen is purple, check
http://edison.devel.coastnet.net.au/bb/bb2.html
for the problem systems. If they're not being watched any more,
then remove the host entries from www/logs and you should get a
green screen.
Do those first, then we'll see about the ping problem...
