Re: {bb} bb-top.sh, bb-axis.sh

Can't help you with bb-axis as I don't use it, but as I understand bb-top, you have to install it on each client and define an entry in bb-bbexttab that looks something like:

localhost : : bb-top.sh

Its worth pointing out that you can get the same results from bb-top.sh, but without using an add-on scripts. On your BB server simply edit the TOP entry for bbsys.sh to the path for top on your system. On my RH ES 3 box, I have TOP="/usr/bin/top". Then edit the TOPARGS variable. On mine, I have TOPARGS="-C -b -n 1". You will need to make this change on each client as well. If you're in a mixed environment, such as Solaris and Linux, you may need to have different paths and parameters. In any case, after making the changes and restarting the clients, clicking on the "cpu" column icon on your BB display will show the output of top as well the loadaverage and other goodies it now shows.

Hi,

I'm trying to get the above two ext scripts to work. I get no errors for either of them, but no output in the BBDISPLAY. For the bb-axis.sh especially, I am wondering how the heck it knows the IP of the print server to monitor. I can't see where to tell it that. For the bb-top.sh, I have an empty bb-toptab because I wanted to see the default values. Do I have to have something in it? Also should bb-top.sh be in the ext scripts for the server, or for the client for which I want it to run.

I realize these are two different scripts, but I wanted to throw it out there to see who else is using them.

Thanks,
Misty
