{bb} bb-top.pl and bb-toptab syntax?
Howdy, Bros
I downloaded Craig's perl script (bb-top.pl) from deadcat yesterday after
reading the e-mails posted by Andrew and Misty. I want to monitor a server
for runaway oracle processes. Here is my bb-toptab file.
$ cat bb-toptab
#gereral format
#hostname:panic process:warn process:ignore process
#panic and warn format
# process name;operator for cpu percent;cpu percent;operator for time;number
of seconds:
#
# Ignore format
# process1 process2 process3
#e.g.
hostname.domain.com:oracle;>=;24;>=;3600 oracle;>=;24;>=;1800
This server is a 4-CPU box so I set the CPU level at 24%. I want the test to
warn me after 30 minutes and panic after one hour. But, last night during a
NetBackup backup job, I got a panic alert.
Process Name: bpbkar -r 1129032 -ru oracle -dt 0 -to 0 -clnt hostname -class
export_job
Process ID: 17231
Running for: 2042 secs. Panic at: >=1800 secs.
CPU usage: 24.84%. Panic at: >=24%
I'm sure this is a syntax error in my bb-toptab, but I'm clueless on how I
should construct it correctly. Any help? Craig?
TIA
