{bb} ':' in bb-msgstab

I have two error messages that I need BB to watch for that I can't seem 
to get it to recognize and alert on.
select count(*)
Io exception: Connection timed out

Unfortunately I can not break the messages apart because there are 
"valid errors" (whatever that means - thank you developers) that are 
similar but not the same. I have tried escaping the characters and using 
single and double quotes (and both together).

How can I get bb to pick up on these?
