{bb} ENABLE_DISABLE under bb1.9e btf

Hi Folks, 

I'm trying a fresh install of bb1.9e btf on a Solaris 8 x86 box, with the
ENABLE_DISABLE feature.
I've run bbconfig solaris, 
uncommented the ENABLE_DISABLE line in etc/bbdef-server.sh,
run make,
run make install,

all without any errors (as far as I could see).

Now when I run runbb.sh start, it actually starts ok but reports
./runbb.sh: ENABLE_DISABLE: not found

Can anybody see what I'm doing wrong here?
