As Rob suggested, it looks likely that the "unknown directive" is only
a result of bbchkhosts.sh not coping with the client/server software
split in the latest version. The "connection timeout" messages are
probably pointing to the real problem, which is most likely the local
firewall settings on the server. I'd recommend either turning the
firewall off of adding a rule to allow communication on port 1984.
