Thanks for the quick answers,
I will try it with the sms_client now.
Kermit had cost me to many gray hairs.
Is it posiible to acknowledge messages via sms_client ?

I use sms_client for paging. I did:
install sms_client
copied /home/bb/bb/ext/pg/ex1 to /home/bb/bb/ext/pg/sms
i replaced the line
'echo "${BBALPHAMSG}" | $MAIL "!BB - ${ACKCODE}! $BBHOSTSVC -
$BBNUMERIC" "$RCPT"' by
'/usr/bin/sms_client kpn:$RCPT "BB - ${ACKCODE} - $BBHOSTSVC
$BBCOLORLEVEL - $BBNUMERIC"'
Replace kpn with you provider. In my case, i can send sms using the kpn
number to Vodaphone, Orange and Telfort numbers (did test any others).
It works perfect for me. I get paged even if the network is down. Email
2 sms is what we used before (www.gin.nl) but this was unsatisfying
because: 1. It does not work if your network goes down 2. It does not
deliver about 5% of the messages (which can mean 15 minutes of extra
downtime for our customers, which is unacceptable).
I use a external, serial modem for this (us creative modem blaster).
regards, Jasper

Well, actually, if the event that caused the page to occur is a network
error, it may not be possible to send an email. I say this from
experience, unfortunately.
