Re: {bb} bb-xsnmp-1.77
Hello,
I wrote the thing, so I'll answer as best as I can.
I wrote it back when the client and server were one single install.
I've never used it in the most recent arrangement that keeps the client
and server folders separate.
Your question is excellent because not even I know the answer. If
bb-xsnmp.pl can't find bb-cputab, then the best suggestion I can make is
to hack bb-xsnmp.pl.
Also, I recently changed jobs, so this address of mine soon will go
away too. I'll re-subscribe from a different address. The job change
means I've lost my big menagerie of devices.
Hopefully with the job change though I'll get my work ethic back and
I'll start updating the thing again.
Best regards,
James

I have what might be a dumbass question, but I’m a big fan of asking a
lot of questions before breaking things. I want to monitor CPU on some
compact flash booted dslams, so it would be difficult to install the BB
client. (We like to make things difficult here.) I am looking at using
the bb-xsnmp script. I’ve read the README, but I’d love some input from
anyone who has used it. So I dropped it in the ext dir on my BB server.
I put the hosts I want to monitor in the bb-xsnamptab file. The README
says that it uses the thresholds in bb-cputab, but this file only exists
in the bb client directory, not in the server directory. I don’t
remember if I deleted it, or if it supposed to be this way. Am I doing
this correctly?
Also, while it says it has only certain compatibility, does anyone have
experience modifying said script to work for other machines?
Thanks!
