The standard SMTP test in BB does not look at the response from
the server - as long as the connection can be established, it will
send in a green status report.

You could write your own extension script to look at the response
and act accordingly.

Or you could just use bbtest-net (the bbgen network tester) with the
"--check-response" option enabled.
