RE: {bb} "no space left on device"

Title: "no space left on device"

Maybe the ‘no space’ problem is really a permissions issue? Did you chown all of the bb files to the bb user and give them the proper chmod?

You can use ./bbrm in $BBHOME/bin to remove specific machines or tests logs from all the log dirs at once, but I think to get only specific dates, you’d have to go into the files by hand? Do you care about having the old data? If not, just do ./bbrm machine for everything that’s corrupt.

Subject: {bb} "no space left on device"

Hello all,

Please pardon the fact that this is not really a Big Brother question.  I started getting a "no space left on device" error any time BB tried to create a file even though df says the partition is only 56% full.  Of course, since bb creates LOTS of files, I got LOTS of these errors, and I'm still trying to undo the damage.  I'm running bb 1.9e on Fedora Core 2.

Is anyone familiar with this error, how to fix it and how to prevent it?

I figured it had something to do with too many files, so I tried to clear a little space and then use bbprune to archive the older data.  That kinda helped, but I'm sure this problem will be back.

This leads to the second question.  It looks like the inability to create files for the last 2 days caused some corruption in my bb data.  How do I clean out bb data from a specific time period?  Say, everything from noon Saturday to noon today.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Ted.
