RE: {bb} "no space left on device"

Ah-HA! Df -i. I should have read the man page.

On the partition in question I get:
Inodes: 2223872
Iused: 2210016
Ifree: 13856

Looks pretty low. How do I fix it? I tried cleaning off a bunch of files
and I tried an fsck, but these numbers tell me it didn't work. I imagine I
could move the data off, rebuild the file system (with lots more inodes),
and move the data back on. Is there an easier way?

MANY thanks.

Ted.

You could be running out of "i-nodes" on your filesystem. (An "i-node"
is more or less a directory entry/filename, and if you use the default Red
Hat Linux filesystem ext2 or ext3, the number of available i-nodes is
determined when the filesystem is generated).

Try running "df -i" and see if that is the problem.
