{bb} fping.pl erroring out

Brothers and Sisters,

I'm attempting to install fping.pl and I keep getting this error:

Mon Aug 30 18:32:55 2004 fping.pl Use of uninitialized value in string
eq at /opt/bb19c/ext/
fping.pl line 113.

It looks to be complaining about this line:

    if ($services eq "") {

Any ideas?  I've been working on this for the better part of today.
