I opened it in vi as I already have said. That's what threw me because
the characters were NOT there. I opened and edited the file MANY times
to see if I could get it working before posting.
Adam mentioned that perhaps vim was to blame. I don't know, but I can
assure you I went through hours of trying to fix this on my own using vi
before I gave up and posted.
