{bb} sms hardware requirement

Hi.. I thinking of installing SMS service on my big
brother server, I understand there are some
configuration can be done on the server site.  But May
I know what is the hardware requirement for that? Do
we need a modem ? a special modem with handphone SIM
card? If not, do we need to contact our Telco provider
for that special service to convert email to SMS or
etc??  thanks in advance for the advice
