I would have a look at the following items :

- Is the client running fine ? (pgrep bb , tail BBOUT)
- Can you reach the server (ping test or netcat stuff to port 1984) ?
- Is the $BBHOME/etc/bb-hosts file on the client pointing to the right 
BBPAGER server ?
- Do you have a paranoid firewall setup (IPTables or IPChains) blocking 
outgoing traffic ?
