Re: {bb} yellow to red and vice versa alerts

Can BB be configured to send another alert if the color turns to red

From what I know, BB will only send once with the following config:

pagelevels: yellow red

Actually, it sends every 15 minutes while a situation is pagable (red or yellow.) Big Brother recognizes changes in states but for paging purposes, it only recognizes a change from a pagable situation to a non-pagable situation (and vice versa). Since you've defined red and yellow as pagable situations, Big Brother doesn't care about changing from red to yellow or yellow to red since it is the same thing from a paging standpoint.

also, if there any variable that I can use in the external program to
check the previous color?

No. To do this, your paging script must maintain state through temp files or some such.

So far, the only variable related to color that I can use in the
external program is $BBCOLORLEVEL. Is there $BBPREVIOUSCOLORLEVEL ?

Nope, but could be submitted as an enhancement request. The only variable indicating a change like that is $RECOVERED, which indicates a change from a pagable state to a non-pagable state (ie. from red to green, from yellow to blue, etc.)
