{bb} unable to enable/disable notifications in bb1.9e

I use bb1.9e and would like to disable some notifications from time to
time.

As written in BB's help, I have put in $BBHOME/etc/bbdef-server.sh RUNOPTS
="ENABLE_DISABLE" ans restarted bb's display.

To test it, from my BBDISPLAY, I did :
su - bb
export BBHOME=/usr/local/bigbrother/bb
. $BBHOME/etc/bbdef.sh
$BBHOME/bin/bb $BBDISPLAY "disable testserver 1d test"

Nothing happened : testserver's notifications were still active.

Is there anything I did wrong?
Any clue?
