RE: {bb} 1.9e client/server on hte same host

Thank you!! I'll try that... I was trying to find this info in forums, but
didn't... It wasn't discussed with regards to the settings, there were just
sentences regarding "convenient" or not :(
Thanx again for the details!
Olga.

The short answer is yes.
You have to in order to get all the reports on the various things being
monitored.

The medium length answer:

I am speaking of linux or solaris here, I create a home dir call
/usr/local/bb. Inside of this I put the bbserver and bbclient versions
in their OWN directories. The structure then looks like:
/usr/local/bb/bb1.9e-btf
/usr/local/bb/bbc1.9e-btf

After going through the steps to install create symbolic links from each
of the sub directories to a ./bbserver and ./bbclient so you now have:
/usr/local/bb/bb1.9e-btf linked to /usr/local/bb/bbserver
/usr/local/bb/bbc1.9e-btf linked to /usr/local/bb/bbclient

When you install Startup scripts in /etc/init.d point them at the
symbolic links. You will need one for starting the bbserver, and one for
starting the bbclient. So two (2) scripts in all.;-)

Now when you upgrade you just recreate the symbolic links and your paths
haven't changed for the autostart scripts in /etc/init.d.

This has actually been discussed before, but it is very confusing to a
person just starting with the new structure.
