{bb} Another BB review
Network Computing did a review of sub-$1,000US SNMP monitoring packages.
Big Brother finished with a score of 3.75 out of 5 for a "B" grade.
Vol. 15, No. 19, October 1, 2004, pp. 81-90

Issues with the review:
1. It focused primarily on SNMP capabilities and 'ping'. Big Brother
*does* SNMP but just barely.
2. Testing was very basic and did not take advantage of advanced features.
To quote the article "we felt like we didn't even scratch the surface of
all the available scripts." Understatement.
3. They've confused/misrepresented the licensing....again.
4. Only discussed the out-of-the-box stuff with a "it integrates with
MRTG" as the only hint of the 3rd party integration/framework which, in my
not-so-humble opinion, is the true power of BB
All-in-all, not a bad review. When you look at Big Brother, not as a
product but as a total framework, and throw in all the scripts from
Deadcat.net, you'll find you have an extremely powerful monitoring system,
no matter the price.
