{bb} Can't ping once host goes down??

Folks:

When our BB box notices that one of our servers is offline...it will show a red circle under the Conn column...the others are purple.

When the server comes back and it online...our BB box still will not "see" it as online!  I've logged onto the linux box and tried to ping the server and to no avail.  

If I restart the box then things are fine.  I'm not sure why it drops a server permanently when the issue is only temporary.
