I am having a little trouble getting some of my external scripts to notify
correctly. I will use one example to illustrate and hopefully someone can
save me.
We have a temptrax system which we use to monitor our Operations area,
computer room , ups room, and telco room temperatures
In my ~etc/bb-hosts file I have:
temptrax.blah 10.1.1.104 #
I have four scripts in ~ext (on the bb server) each of which checks a probe
and reports back to bb using MACHINE="temptrax.blah".
The page for the temptrax with each check displays perfectly, but the warning
emails come in unmatched (i.e. 999999999999). The result is that the group
defined doesn't get paged properly. I have looked through the configs to
ensure that I have no typos, and everything looks good to me. I am having
this problem with several other ext scripts as well, some homegrown and some
I took from deadcat.
Any help anyone could offer is appreciated
Kolly
