RE: {bb} LDAP Monitoring Problem

Alex-

It sounds as if you might have an external Big Brother test, for this, being performed from the BB Display server. Check the file $BBHOME/ext/bb-bbexttab for the scripts which Big Brother is executing and remove the offending script from this file. You will then have to recycle (stop/start) the Big Brother Display server (runbb.sh restart) to apply this change. You will then have to execute (again, on the Big Brother Display server) $BBHOME/bin/bbrm <host name> <test column> (Where host name is the name of the client machine) to remove all history of this test, so you will not receive purple alerts.

Subject: {bb} LDAP Monitoring Problem

Hello,
I have inherited a Big Brother installation and need to switch off an
LDAP monitor on a client. I have removed the ldap refernece in the
server bb-hosts (and the client), and restarted the client and server
but the web-page still picks up a Green indication from the client LDAP
monitoring! Can anyone explain how this monitor works? I also stopped
BBMON completly on the client and the green persists - so it is a remote
check being performed by the server.
Any help really appreciated - thx
Alex Warren
