If you don't mind adding an extra column to your display page, the
easiest way is to define a new network test with a name other than
"http" on port 80. I've set up the network test named "www" for port 80
and that works fine (it can also be used to make sure nothing is running
on port 80, e.g. https-only web servers).
The procedure is as follows:
1. add "www" to the BBNETSVC variable in bbdef.sh of
bbdef-server.sh
2. add "www:80" to the host entry in the bb-hosts file for the host
you want to test. (You can use "!www:80" if you want to test
that nothing runs on port 80). Alternatively, you can add
"www 80/tcp" to /etc/services and just put "www" in the
bb-hosts file.
3. restart BB on your BB server(s)
Hope this helps,
Eric.
