Check that FPING is defined in your $BBHOME/etc/bbsys.local file (it
should point at the "fping" utility you've installed), and that the 
bb user has access rights to run this (it needs to be suid root).

Probably not. But make sure you put a "--larrd043" option on the bbgen
command in $BBHOME/bin/bb-display.sh, assuming you're using larrd 0.43.
