Re: {bb} problems with bb-hosts

Terran,

After you remove a host or test, it's imperative to remove that
host/test from the log files. Do this:

1. cd into the BBBIN directory ($BBHOME/bin)
2. Run bbrm, giving the hostname as the first argument, and the test
as the second. If you're deleting all tests for a removed host, then
do not provide a second argument. ('user@host# ./bbrm host.domain.tld
test1' or 'user@host# ./bbrm host.domain.tld') If you're keeping the
host, but deleting only one test, MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE THE SECOND
ARGUMENT. Otherwise, you lose all historical data for all remaining
tests on that host irrevocably.

As for your second question, I assume you're running the bbchkhosts
script on the client? If so, you probably don't need to worry about
it. That bb-hosts file is really only used on the client for the
localhost's identification, and to determine the BBDISPLAY, BBNET, and
BBRELAY hosts. Some tests on the client may use it for customized
directives, but those wouldn't be in the bbchkhosts script anyway.
You can try to copy over the bbchkhosts script from your
BBDISPLAY/BBNET server and see if that helps, if it makes you feel any
better.

Folks feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that second question.

Regards,
Ben Pitzer
