{bb} Connectivity Tests Randomly going red

Hello all-

I am using BBgen 2.16, BB1.8 on AIX monitoring less than but close to 400 servers.  For some reason randomly 30 servers will lose connectivity according to BB, but they will come back on the next cycle.  The servers that go red are not down, and are able to be pinged, all are on separate subnets of the network (some on 1.x.x.x, on 2.x.x.x or 3.x.x.x).  The timeout time is set to 20 seconds.

The graphs (LARRD) do not show a spike in tcp time either.

What could cause this problem?
