Yes thanks Jeff, I've used bbwarnrules but the script seems to overide
the settings ala:

mon2.xxxx.com;;*bank*;;*;0900-1000;pg-trans:1440

The script is one I've written to monitor specific a row in an oracle
database. The notifylist variable
Is a way to specify the notification addresses. In this case a developer
who doesn't belong to any other page groups, and only needs the results
once a day. Preferably during business hours.

If you'd like to see the script let me know..

You can set limits in the paging rules themselves. See comments in the 
bbwarnrules.cfg file:

# Rules are written in the following format:
#
#       hosts;exhosts;services;exservices;day;time;recipients
#
# hosts: match on these hosts (* is a wildcard for all hosts)
# exhosts: exclude these hosts
# services: match on these services (* is wildcard for all hosts) #
exservices: exclude these services # day: 0-6 (sunday-saturday) # time:
0000-2359 # recipients: email address, numeric pager, sms number
