Thanks Paul.
I just found out the the "UPS web page is ok". That certainly makes things a heck of
alot easier, and all I have to do is redirect the UPS to itself. I wish this would have been
communicated up front. After all, I thought it was a bit nuts trying to redesign the wheel...
So I guess what I will do is modify my script to provide a few additional status points and
possibly a quick and dirty table to do a serial number to "real" device type mapping. The
link to the device will allow the operator crawl around in the UPS. I'll let the SNMP card
handle the authentication, because the new APC firmware (2.6.4) provides for radius
authentication.
It still would be nice though to tie all this in to a database though.....

How about creating a link for every device, but have it redirected
immediately to a perl script or some html page with a summary of
all devices?

Problem is, how (other than static links or some other method) get
everything
to point to the same page? I think it might be better if there was a
"single
point"
to see everything form. Am I just trying to over engineer this?
I'll play around with BBGEN and check what deadcat has for the tools as
well.
Who knows? I might get a better idea of what to do. Thanks for the
info.
