Hmmm I suppose it could be done with a script that would do the opposite 
of a process monitor...and alert if a certain process (Xsun or whatever 
the Xserver process is called on your OS), has been running for more 
than X minutes.

I don't think one currently exists, but you could probably modify an 
existing one.
