RE: {bb} Remote Oracle Monitoring

Thanks that helps!

Now as for the rest of the setup does it assume you want to check a
localhost db? I keep getting errors about the /etc/oratab and
bb-roracle.ksh: The default ORACLE_HOME Directory doesn't exist. I do not
have an oracle instance running on my BB server I just want to monitor
remote oracle instances. Can anyone help?

Thanks
Vince

Yes, it is possible. I have one unix system that monitors several remote
(on Windows NT) databases and the ORADB is listed with the NT host's network
tests (ping, etc) .

In the $BBHOME/etc/bb-roracle.ids file, the 6th column allows you to specify
the host underwhich the results are reported. Using your bb-host snippet,
simply put st-hr1-DEVL and st-hr1-MODL in the appropriate column 6 of
bb-roacle.ids. For example:

-----------------------------
#bb-roracle.ids
#type SID userid passwd test log-as-host
REMOTE giddb bb pwd aBEfjk gissvr.domain.com

------------------------------
#bb-hosts
10.10.10.111 gissvr.domain.com
