BB Unix Network Monitor - Message

RE: {bb} Remote Oracle Monitoring
I assume you are installing this on some kind of Linux? I have been
trying to do the same thing, and saw this same error. The root cause of
this problem, and others you will run into, is that most Linus distros
don't ship with a real ksh, but an imitation called the "public domain
ksh", which has several limitation that the real ksh doesn't have. It
doesn't do floating point, and at least some versions have a bug that
treats the inside of a while loop as a separate scope. This latter
"feature" is what is probably causing your problem below, it is
"forgetting" the name of the host. The "filename" should be something
like hostname.testname. I installed a real ksh from the
http://www.kornshell.com/ site and most of the problems went away. I'm
still not running perfectly, but I don't know if the problem is with the
script or the database.
Thanks,
Larry Barber
