BB Unix Network Monitor - Message

Re: {bb} New to BB

First of all, welcome :)

Getting up to speed with BB can be a stretch for admins with Unix
experience, so you're really up against it here. I'd recommend
leaving your production set-up alone and installing on a test
machine to give you something to learn on. While that is happening,
it might be helpful to get an experienced BB admin in on temporary
contract. I'm currently in a position to do that myself, but
unfortunately I'm so far away that my expenses would make it
uneconomic.

The first port of call for documentation are the help pages in
your installation (the "i" icon on the main page). That contains
all that you should need for day-to-day stuff. For specific
problems, the mailing list archives on www.bb4.org are a good
resource. There was also a Wiki at www.blubrick.com/bb/ which
contained more information, but that does not appear to be
working at the moment.

In order to remove a test, you need to stop the test from
happening. If this a network test, you'll need to remove the
relevant keyword from the bb-hosts file and re-start BB. If
it's a client-side test, you need to reconfigure and re-start
the relevant client. After stopping the test, you then need
to remove the old status files for that test, using the "bbrm"
utility (otherwise they go "stale" and turn purple on the
display).

Hope this helps a little,

Phil.
