I agree with the test server idea.  Setting up BB can be a non trivial task, learning from an existing system with limited Unix knowledge is going to be very challenging.

Take a look on www.deadcat.net, go to the documentation link and read the Install Guide I have produced.  It will take a junior sys admin through the steps to install BB.  I make assumptions that you know how to edit files on unix though ;)

If you need training I am sure Quest would be happy to help (or me ;)
