Re: {bb} Reading a file
Jeff,
I am already using bb-central to check messages, I have put an entry in
the bb-param file with the following format.
host Item OS yellow Red File to check
However in the tmp/msgs directory the msgssent-*** file is checking
var/adm/messages which is not the file that I'd like to check, and so
the msgs-**** file is empty. The msgssize and msgstab are picking up the
correct settings from bb-param. Any help would be great as its driving
me nuts!
Thanks
Andrew

I have a problem which may seem simple but I'm having trouble getting
it to work. I have been asked to set up a test on BB to connect to a
server, read a file, check whether there is the word OK (or
warning/critical) in the file and then report accordingly to BB.
How do you plan to connect to the remote system? ssh, 'r' commands (rsh,
rcp, rdist, etc.), telnet, ftp, netcat....etc.?
If you have ssh installed, then go to www.deadcat.net and look for
either bbfetch or bb-central. Use one or the other to implement the msgs
check on that system.
