RE: RE : {bb} Log Files not being created

I have roughly over 180 clients and about 220 tests. I haven't installed
bbgen since I have seen on some postings that people have been crashing once
they upgraded and I am using ping. I don't have any problems with false
alerts or nothing of the like, I just do not get some of the logs created.

What I mean by making an archive is that I ran the command bbprune to
archive the logs.

I do have another test bb server but I don't have all the test running on
this server since I don't want to cause duplicate traffic on our network for
every device.

Hi,

How many clients and tests do you have ?
Did you install bbgen for better performances and use fping instead of ping
?

What do you mean when you write :
"I made an archive of the logs".
?

Do you have another bb server ?

BBOUT has not errors to report about the log files, I do have some of the
log files being created but just not some. When I use the report
functionality it will show those devices as being offline the whole time
because there is no log file in place. The perms on that on /bbvar and all
directories below that are 774. I have started and restarted BB and nothing
yet.

Vince,

BBOUT doesn't give any clues as to why? Also - I would think an archiving
operation wouldn't affect the permissions of the hist and logs directories,
but I'd check those too just *in case*.
