Re: {bb} missing columns

Thanks for the info. I've now got two servers, both Red Hat Linux, running Big Brother. ServerA (The Primary) is running as the BBNET, BBPAGER, BBDISPLAY, which is set in the bb-hosts file. This machine is what our organization is depending on for Big Brother. We have set up ServerB (The Secondary) as the failover server, which is set in its bb-bbexttab file. ServerB is missing all it's columns.

The /bbvar/logs directory of ServerB, only show the servers with the conn suffix, which explains why there is only one column for connection test. These FQDNs are listed EXACTLY as they are in the bb-hosts file.

Also, I've verified that the client is running on ServerB

#ps wauxg | grep bbc
bbrother 3742 3741 0 12:51 pts/1 00:00:00 /home/bbrother/bb/bbc1.9e-btf/bin/bbrun -a /home/bbrother/bb/bbc1.9e-btf/bin/bb-local.sh

Still have the missing columns issue.

Sorry to bother everyone.

I just installed a new failover server and can see the main BB html page. However, I'm missing all columns aside from conn. Any idea how I can get these?

There is insufficient information in your question to hazard a guess. The only fact you've provided is that (one) test run from your display server (actually BBNET) works and tests run from your client do not.

Before asking another question try some investigation.

I assume your display server is some Unix variant, probably the Windows display is similar but I don't know how to translate.

look in .../bbvar/logs and see if the test results you are looking for are there. (format of the filename is "servername.testname". and "servername" must match EXACTLY what is in the display server's bbhost file.

If they are, the problem is (probably) on the display server. If not (and I'll bet not), then the client is not sending them (correctly).

1) Client isn't installed (correctly)
2) Client is not running.
3) Client is not configured (correctly)
a) most important information is the the bbhosts file define the BBDISPLAY& BBPAGER correctly

Suggest you read the configuration section before you post additional questions. It will solve a lot of your problems.
If you still have a problem, you'll get better answers by posting information about your configuration and a list of things you've tried and appear to be correct (or incorrect).
