You can try the following, but you have to be clear about how
acknowledgements would need to be done:
Machine.domain.net;;*;;*;*;pager1@domain.net:60
Machine.domain.net;;*;;*;*;pager2@domain.net:~180-60
Here's the way I think it would work:
Server 1 goes down and two alert notices are created, however pager 2
doesn't get anything sent (in $BBTMP/np_pager2*, it would have 7 zeros
after ACK code):
Pager1: 6810010
Pager2: 6810011
If the page is acknowledged in an hour with 6810099, all is well for
everyone. If not, then after an hour, pager 1 is notified again. A new
ACK code is created... But only for Pager 1:
Pager1: 1310010
Pager2: 6810011
Now if you acknowledge with a 1310099, only Pager 1 is turned off.. So
you need to acknowledge the first notification anyway.
If unacknowledged after 3 hours (180 minutes), a new ACK code is created
for both pagers and both pagers will receive notifications.
Pager1: 4520010
Pager2: 4520011
Now both can be acknowledged by 4520099.
This should work fine if you don't want any delay on your first page.
Where we ran into problems is that I want to delay the initial
notification for 5 minutes (~5 minutes) and then escalate if not
acknowledged after an hour. Unfortunately that means that my Pager1
never gets the same ACK code as my Pager2. In our case, we had to use
the Web Acknowledgment page from deadcat so you could find all the
current ACK codes. And I end up modifying the deadcat program so it
could handle the ACK codes with the seven extra zeros.
Hope that helps... And do test that it gives you what you want.

We've discussed this here and basically what we're looking to do is
this:
* User1 gets an e-mail alert when a server goes down. He has 60 minutes
to
ACK before the next e-mail alert comes.
* If User1 does not respond, one notification goes to User2 via e-mail
after
180 minutes from the initial alert.
Can this be done?
