Hmmm. I responded to this earlier, but it hasn't appeared yet.

You could do that, although it would probably be better to leave the
Apache document root where it is and add a directory entry that points
directly to the BB server "BBHOME/www" directory. Apache 2 has a good
deal of flexibility in this area.

Another option is to reverse the direction of the link. In terms of
security, however, this looks worse than the traditional set-up.
Stop BB; copy the "BBHOME/www" directory into your Apache tree;
rename the original and replace it with a link. Just make sure that
your BB user is able to write into the new Apache directory.
