Re: {bb} Testing a ping from another machine?

Just install BB (server) on your machine and define it
as a bbnet server and send the status for the machines you
ping over to the bbdisplay. Only define the machines you
want to ping from that server in that hosts' bb-hosts file.

This is going to sound very silly, but I'm wondering if there's a
solution and I'm just not thinking out of the box enough. The machines
at my data center (where the BB server is located) can't talk to the
VPN
due to certain routing. The VPN has been flakey and I want to monitor
it
somehow. I have a handful of machines at the office that can talk to
both the VPN and BB. Is there a way to bounce some sort of check
through
another machine to check if the VPN is alive, and send it back to BB?

I could probably write some basic shell script to ping and run it in
bb/ext/ from another client, but is there a better way?

Thanks!

~Kim
