Re: {bb} Licensing question

Are the new Quest licences backward compatable to the BTF version ?
No. The license is different - it's a full-blown commercial license.
We are still using licenced BTF 1.9e and have a need to add a couple
more servers. Because we have done some fairly heafty modifications to
the BTF edition we are going to copy an existing installation over to a
new server. We need to keep using BTF 1.9e in the forseable future so if
the Quest licences doesn't cover us for BTF we are in trouble.
Again, drop a note to mailto:bbsales@quest.com. I'll give you an
added incentive - that mail goes to me. I then beg^H^H^H recommend
stuff to the Quest saleman that I pass the note along to. Of course
I can be completely ignored. If that appears to be happening, I'm
always happy to step in and toss in my $0.02 about how something
should be handled.
This is *especially* true in the case of 'older brothers'...
In a nutshell, I suspect that they'll let you clone existing
installations under the BTF license but would want to charge
you BBPE prices (again we can beg for a discount based on
seniority, etc).
Thanks for caring about the licensing.
